Installing your eSIM

Do this at home, on Wi-Fi, before you fly. It takes about two minutes.

  1. 1Connect to Wi-Fi. Adding an eSIM needs an internet connection.
  2. 2Open Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Service) → Add eSIM.
  3. 3Choose Use QR Code and scan the code from your order page or email.
  4. 4Label the line something you will recognise — “Travel data” works.
  5. 5Leave the line turned OFF until you land, unless the plan page says it starts on installation.
  6. 6On arrival: turn the line on, set Cellular Data to it, and switch on Data Roaming for that line.

If you cannot scan the code

This is usually because you are reading the email on the same phone that needs the eSIM. Every order page and email lists the two values your phone needs, and every phone accepts them typed in.

Choose manual entry — on iPhone it is “Enter Details Manually” under Add eSIM; on Android it is usually a link at the bottom of the scanning screen — and enter the SM-DP+ address and the activation code exactly as shown, including capitals.

Installed, but no data after landing

Almost always one of three settings. Check them in this order.

  • The eSIM line is switched on.
  • Data roaming is enabled for that line — this sounds wrong, but your phone treats the eSIM's network as foreign, and without roaming it will not connect.
  • Mobile data is set to use the eSIM line rather than your home SIM.
  • Still nothing? Toggle flight mode on and off, which forces the phone to search for a network again.

Do not delete the eSIM

An eSIM profile can be downloaded once. Deleting it from your phone, or resetting the phone, ends the plan — it cannot be reissued, by us or by the network.

If you are changing phones mid-trip, buy a new eSIM for the new phone rather than trying to move the old one.
